UBC Green Mind Initiative — Forest Therapy Research
University of British Columbia
Summer 2026
Project Overview
I participated in a collaborative research project at the University of British Columbia examining how forest environments may relate to attention, stress, and well-being. Working alongside researchers and fellow students, I contributed to participant sessions, interviews, data collection and analysis, and co-wrote the final research report.
Research Experience
Through this project, I gained hands-on experience with the research process, including study design, data collection, critical analysis, and collaborative inquiry. The experience has deepened my understanding of how scientific evidence is generated and how interdisciplinary research can address questions related to mental health and well-being.
Research Reflection
Participating in this project strengthened my appreciation for careful observation and evidence-based thinking. It also reinforced my belief that meaningful research should be able to improve people's lives. These experiences continue to shape both my academic interests in psychology and neuroscience and his work through Speak With Arts.
Status
This research project has been completed. A detailed research summary will be added following the release of the final report.
