Hi, I’m Gina Qin

Music has always been a big part of Gina’s life. As a classically trained flutist, she loves sharing music with others and believes that many meaningful performances happen outside of the concert hall. Through Speak With Arts, Gina combines her passion of performance with community services by organizing a series of concerts for senior homes and helping design music programs for children with special needs.

My Approach

Through these experiences, she gradually developed new understanding of what music truly is. During senior home performances, she often noticed that residents quietly tapping along the rhythm or humming melodies they are familiar with. After each performance, many of them stay and share their stories when they are young and memories behind the music. At first, she thought she was the one bringing music and comfort to them. However, over time she realized that they had given her just as much as return. Their smile, heartfelt conversations, and some simple appreciations have reminded her that music is not just about playing well, but also about creating joy, comfort, connection and spreading kindness.

The future of SWA

In the future, Gina hopes to continue sharing music with the community creating more opportunities for people of all ages to connect through music, discover its beauty, engage with one another, and experience warm and belonging.
